We install and service all makes of boiler

Do you long for a cost efficient heating solution? Current building regulations state that all replacement or new gas-fired boilers must be condensing boilers. Older boilers have an efficiency of as little as 60%, which can have a big impact on your home heating bills.

We specialise in installation of condensing boilers and renewable energy products using the most up-to-date technology. Modern boilers have efficiency of over 90% saving you a minimum of 30% per year on your home heating bills. Over the lifetime of your boiler, this represents a potentially massive saving.

Choosing a new boiler for your home

Choosing the right new boiler depends on a number of factors. These include property size, number of bathrooms and number of occupants.

Our qualified engineers can help you choose the make and model of boiler most suited to your property. Prestige will ensure you always have hot water and heating when you need it.

Combination Boilers

Combi Boilers are fast becoming the most common type of boiler in UK properties. Models are available to suit every size of premises.

They provide heating and hot water from the same single unit. There is no need for a water tank or cylinder to store hot water.

Advantages

Unlimited hot water when you need it, plus you save space in your home. The compact boiler can be easily hidden in a cupboard.

Disadvantages

Properties where more than one room requires hot water at the same time might be better off with an Unvented Cylinder System. Otherwise the pressure in the boiler may not allow for adequate flow to multiple taps.

Unvented Cylinders

These boilers require a water storage cylinder, which is usually placed in an airing cupboard.

The cylinder design requires an expansion vessel next to the main cylinder. This accommodates variations in storage pressure.

Advantages

Unvented Systems allow you to use multiple hot taps at the same time without a reduction in water pressure. You also don’t need any loft space for a water tank.

Disadvantages

Your hot water might temporarily run out at busy usage times, like first thing in the morning. A short wait is required for the tank to reheat. You also need a suitable airing cupboard or similar to store the cylinder and expansion vessel.

Vented Cylinders

These boilers also require a water storage cylinder, like the Unvented Systems.

Instead of an expansion vessel, Vented Systems draw from a water tank in the loft.

Advantages

Vented Systems allow you to use multiple hot taps at the same time without a reduction in water pressure. They also solve any issues with low local water pressure.

Disadvantages

Your hot water might temporarily run out at busy usage times, much like an Unvented System. Extra space is also needed in the loft for a water tank.

Many customers talk to us about upgrading these older systems to a Combi-Boiler or Unvented System.
